Angstrom Microsystems is proud to announce
the Angstrom Media Systems product lineup. Angstrom Media Systems is designed
to offer Windows application developers and system designers for the
professional broadcast market a highly integrated and cost-effective software
applications development and I/O platform. The initial broadcast development
platform (bdp) models are based on AMD's state-of-the-art 64-bit dual-core
Opteron CPUs and Matrox's multi-channel XMIO SD/HD I/O cards.
Models in 3RU enclosures support system
expandability via easily accessible PCI-X and PCI Express slots for inclusion
of Fibre Channel or Infiniband Host Channel Adaptors for external networking or
RAID Controllers for internal SATA RAID arrays.
These systems provide professional-grade
audio/video features such as SD or HD SDI I/Os, embedded AES audio, Closed
Caption and VITC support, optional LTC-Input support and high-quality genlock
to external Black Burst or Tri-level synch signals.
A suite of real-time software-based codecs
are also offered. These include DV, DVCPro, MPEG-2 I Frame-only and Long GOP
codecs for SD and HDV and MPEG-2 I Frame-only codecs for HD.
In addition to the Windows softwate
development environment, these systems support Matrox's XMIO SDK for broadcast
applications development. The XMIO SDK provides many video functions such as
compositing, color correction, chroma/luma/linear keying, fade/dissolve/wipe,
graphic overlay, pan/scan, logo insertion, slow-motion and numerous other
effects. These software development tools, along with the powerful
computational capabilities of multiple AMD's 64-bit dual-core CPUs, make these
systems ideal solutions for application and system developers targeting
multi-channel SD and HD television networks and stations, cable networks,
satellite uplinks, post production suites and any other professional broadcast
